Three brief video clips showing how a well-trained gundog behaves.

boomer-rabbit-1Here are several videos showing what a well trained gundog looks like at work.

Phil Parkinson’s FTCH Twixwood Shooting Star                                                                                                                                                                                                      The beating line has pushed a good number of pheasants forward on the ground, so there is loads of scent to make the tracking job difficult. Watch this dog sort out the wounded-bird scent from the rest as he retrieves a “runner”.

Robin Watson with FTCH Brackenbird Minnow                                                                                                                                                                                                    Watch this dog win a field trial. Note that the dog is doing nearly all the work in finding the birds. Most of the game is being retrieved from falls that are well hidden in woods and cover, where the dog is out of sight.

Reddihough Day Hallrule                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Note the good manners and calm demeanor of these dogs on a day of shooting in Scotland.

“When he stood up to speak, battalions of words issued forth from his mouth and scoured the countryside in search of an idea, and when they found one, they swiftly and thoroughly beat it to death.” —- -Anonymous
